Sneaky Crypts & Sparkly Heels

October 28, 2011

It was the Friday night before Halloween weekend and we decided to hit the town! Our first stop was the Tales From the Sneaky Crypt custom toy art show at the Kidrobot store in the hip neighborhood of Covent Garden. The Halloween themed show was curated by artist & designer Sneaky Raccoon and had some really cool custom toys. Chelsea’s favorite was the little purple Dracula. Mine was the felted Viking… I win. The weather was perfect, so we decided to go exploring and check out the rest of the neighborhood. This area is also home to many of London’s finest theatres… and London’s largest sparkly high heel! Chels and I were so happy to stumble upon the Palace Theatre, which is currently showing Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. We recently watched the film with our friends Brian and Simon. It’s one of their faves, and it reminded us of them. Good times.

While passing a local fire station, we ran into this guy. Sketchy, rough and kinda funny… we love these drawings of various firefighter monsters. Since then, we have noticed this artist in several spots around town. He is definitely a new favorite of mine.

Before you say anything about the Mexican eatery in the background… there is NO Mexican food in London. None. Zip. Zilch. Nada, if you will. When we saw the shining Mexican-ish beacon known as Chipotle, we almost lost it. The dinner was delicious… a little pricey, but delicious. Don’t hate.

We ended the night cruising through the lively Soho District of the West End. Full of pubs, clubs and shady looking gentlemen inviting you upstairs for a “pretty girl massage”… this was the most family-friendly photo we could post. And yes, I do love being black.
